Essential Vocab Translation Template
Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil

I feel linguistically crippled here in Brazil, and something that I should have done long ago was list out the most common words and phrases I need to communicate (in a foreign language).

This is a work in progress, mostly derived from my day-to-day experiences in Latin America (having known none prior to my immersion in Spanish). Eventually I will take a polished version of this list and place it in a spreadsheet, so that I can quickly reference key vocabulary for many languages in one place (adding to it as I travel).

Hi Craig, I'm really enjoying reading your blog, some fantastic photos and experiences here. I was curious if you ever filled this out? I'm going to South America including Brazil in 4 weeks and need to learn some lingo ASAP! Cheers,
Leo

I actually did, but the PDA I was using back at this time for my writing had a failure that ended up with that file getting lost :|

Cheers Craig, filling it in myself will be good to do anyway! Hopefully google translate doesn't lead me astray :P
