Nude CouchSurfers
Devin, Bulgaria

A musical group of nude CouchSurfers, as captured by Scott (aka: 'berlinmode')

CouchSurfing has been a big part of my life recently, and as such, I tend to spend quite a bit of time on the project Web site looking at profiles and threaded messages. I don't recall exactly how I stumbled across the profile of a fellow living in San Francisco by the name of 'berlinmode', but Scott (his real name) is doing something that really caught my attention.

Scott is taking nude studio portraits of his (willing) CouchSurfers.

At current count, he's posted some 81 different shots to the project gallery on his profile page. (click on the image below to see the full CS gallery collage)

It's certainly one of the most provocative, noteworthy projects I've seen touted on CouchSurfing.

Here's a bit more background, off of Scott's entertaining profile page:

I offer a clothing optional place for couch surfers. If you are a nudist you will feel right at home. Also, if you've never experienced naked couch surfing before, this is a great way to get your feet wet and try a new experience.

I'm also currently photographing Naked Couch Surfers!! Even if you don't surf my couch, I'd love to photograph you for my naked couch surfer portrait series. So if you're visiting or even local, contact me to set up your own free studio portrait session. Although there is nudity, you will find it very tasteful.

Do not contact me months in advance wanting to schedule a couch!!! I can't do it! If you are a "Planner" or have obsessive-compulsive disorder, we are not a match.

The reason I say "read my profile in its entirety" is that I've been contacted by some people I would classify (from reading their profiles and sometimes meeting in person) as RRRRR (Radical Right-Winged Religious Republican Rednecks) wanting to surf - AINT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!

It would also seem that the man is quite the wine enthusiast, who seems to photograph/document the bottles of vino that CouchSurfers have brought to him. A bit peculiar, but rather interesting:
