Recipes for Cihan's Culinary Delights
Istanbul, Turkey

Cihan, our excellent CouchSurfing host, has prepared several dishes for us since arriving at his cute, cozy apartment about a week ago. I'm writing down the recipes for two items he seems particularly proficient in (that I don't want to forget).

Tomato Paste Dip

Mix together:

  • Tomato paste (not sauce)
  • Olive oil
  • Minced garlic
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • Red pepper
  • Cumin (a lot)
  • Minced walnuts
  • A bit of water

Mulled Wine

  • Red wine, heated very slowly (not to a boil)
  • Clove
  • Orange, sliced
  • Apple, diced into large pieces
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
