Six Months of CouchSurfing
Kemer, Turkey
Today marks six continuous months of CouchSurfing. Half a year spent in the homes of others.
Staying here at La Luna has been a welcomed change from my traditional CouchSurfing. In fact, it's more like I'm on vacation here in Kemer than anything. Privacy, sleeping in my own private hotel room, getting fed twice a day from the restaurant—geez. My daily expenses have been just about $0/day for the past 10 days or so.
Early into my time here I decided to reciprocate about the only way I could (as Hasan certainly isn't wanting for food, booze, company, or anything material); I'd overhaul the beast of a Web site that the establishment was sporting (circa 2001?).
A confusing, cluttered hodgepodge information/navigation and a lack of branding was what welcomed people at kemerlaluna.com. The translations weren't working for the bulk of the pages, and Hasan was complaining about how he couldn't get this fellow he pays for updates to get anything done.
So I stepped in, created a simplified design, and put it all together over the course of a few days. I wish I could think of something else to do, but he says this is more than enough.
