Return of the Christmas Bugs
Miami Beach, United States
(sigh)… They're back. As if I needed to ever see them again—especially so soon. The Christmas bug nightmare from Lima has resurrected itself here in Miami.
I suspected something like this might eventually manifest when we moved into our current room and I noticed an aged set of wings from one of the insects stuck to the wall, like a fossilized warning. What started off as one or two a week ago has exploded in dozens.
I can't figure out where they're coming from. They gravitate towards the light, dropping their wings as they flutter about. The nasty ones bite as they creep—I squished one found crawling on my neck last night.
Damn I hate these things.
